Schalke were reportedly prepared to stretch their financial resources to secure Leite’s signature, offering an annual salary of €1.5 million and a signing bonus of €250,000. This offer represented a commitment from Schalke, who have internally established a salary cap of €1.5 million, suggesting they were willing to make an exception for the defender. Despite this, Leite has chosen to decline their advances.
Leite joined Union Berlin in 2022 from Vitória de Guimarães, quickly becoming a key figure in their defence.
