Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande has indicated his willingness to join Liverpool this summer, according to reports from FootMercato journalist Santi Aouna. The RB Leipzig player is also reportedly open to a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with discussions already underway between both clubs and his representatives.
Liverpool have long been linked with Diomande, with TEAMtalk reporting on the club’s desire to sign him in the upcoming transfer window. Sources at the club suggest that owners Fenway Sports Group view Diomande as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose departure is anticipated this summer. Liverpool are reportedly attempting to finalize a deal before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals.
However, RB Leipzig are reluctant to sell the 27-year-old, hoping to retain his services for at least another season. The Bundesliga club are believed to value Diomande at around €150million (£129.6m, $174.5m), as reported by Bild. This valuation reflects Diomande’s importance to the team and his growing reputation in European football.
In addition to the pursuit of Diomande, Liverpool have also enquired about Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong, but have been unsuccessful in their attempts to secure his signature. New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso considers Acheampong an “untouchable” player and intends to integrate him into his plans for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, reports suggesting Alonso was interested in bringing Florian Wirtz to Chelsea have been dismissed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed the attacking midfielder will remain at Anfield.
The potential arrival of Diomande would provide Liverpool with a dynamic attacking option, adding further depth to their forward line. His pace and dribbling ability could prove valuable as the team looks to compete on multiple fronts.
