Yan Diomande has reaffirmed his commitment to RB Leipzig, downplaying recent speculation linking him with a summer move to several of Europe’s leading clubs. The 19-year-old Ivorian winger responded with a definitive “yes” when asked by Kicker if he anticipates remaining with the Bundesliga side next season.
Diomande acknowledged the allure of potential opportunities at clubs like Chelsea or Real Madrid, stating he was “happy and motivated” by the reported interest. However, he emphasized his current focus remains firmly on his duties at Leipzig, adding that he leaves “everything else outside the pitch.” He clarified that his priority is performing on the field, and that the attention from top clubs serves as additional motivation.
The winger’s current contract with Leipzig extends until 2030, a fact he highlighted during a recent media appearance. While acknowledging that “anything can happen in football,” Diomande stressed his present status as a Leipzig player and his enjoyment of playing for the club. He also noted his personal ambition to compete at the “highest level possible,” a goal he believes he can pursue within the current framework at Leipzig.
Sources at Bulinews report that RB Leipzig are equally determined to retain Diomande, and will only consider a departure if an exceptionally lucrative offer is presented. The club views the young Ivorian as a key component of their future plans, and are keen to build around his potential. Diomande has quickly established himself as a promising talent in the Bundesliga, showcasing his pace and dribbling ability in a relatively short period.
Diomande joined Leipzig in January 2023 from FC Basel, and has since made 31 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 5 goals. His performances have attracted the attention of several European giants, but his recent statements suggest he is not actively seeking a transfer at this time. Leipzig’s firm stance and Diomande’s public commitment indicate he will likely remain with the German club for the foreseeable future, continuing his development within a competitive environment.
