Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement in principle with RC Strasbourg winger Diego Moreira, according to transfer journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter. Personal terms between the Bundesliga club and the player have been settled, though a deal with Strasbourg remains to be finalized.
Strasbourg are reportedly seeking a fee of €38 million, plus a further €5 million in potential bonuses, for Moreira. Should Borussia Dortmund meet these demands, the transfer would represent a club record fee, exceeding the €35 million paid to Stade Rennais for Ousmane Dembélé in 2016. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing as Dortmund seek to secure the talented winger.
Moreira enjoyed a productive 2025/26 season with Strasbourg, registering five goals and nine assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. His performances have attracted attention from several European clubs, but Dortmund appear to have moved decisively to secure his signature. The 24-year-old’s ability to both score and create goals makes him an attractive prospect for a Dortmund side looking to strengthen their attacking options.
Currently, Moreira is part of Belgium’s squad for the upcoming World Cup tournament. This international experience adds to his appeal, showcasing his ability to perform on a major stage. He has earned 12 caps for Belgium since making his debut in 2023, becoming a regular feature in their attacking lineup.
Borussia Dortmund are looking to build on their recent Bundesliga success and compete in the Champions League. Adding a player of Moreira’s quality would significantly bolster their squad depth and provide another attacking threat for coach Edin Terzić. The potential arrival of Moreira could also allow Dortmund to explore options for other attacking players within their squad.
