Borussia Dortmund have identified Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa as their primary target to replace Karim Adeyemi should the German international depart this summer, according to Bild. The potential move comes as speculation surrounding Adeyemi’s future intensifies, with several clubs reportedly interested in securing his services.
Borussia Dortmund are proactively planning for potential changes in their attacking options, and Bild reports that Hadj Moussa has emerged as the club’s preferred choice to fill any void left by Adeyemi. The 24-year-old Algerian international enjoyed a successful 2023-24 season with Feyenoord, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists across all competitions. He is currently representing Algeria at the World Cup.
Hadj Moussa signed a long-term contract with Feyenoord, extending his stay until 2030, meaning Dortmund would need to offer a substantial fee to convince the Dutch club to part ways with their key player. Bild reports that any offer would need to be “well over €30 million” to be considered. This valuation reflects Hadj Moussa’s growing reputation and importance to Feyenoord’s attacking setup.
While Hadj Moussa is Dortmund’s top target, the club is also considering alternatives. RC Strasbourg’s Diego Moreira has been identified as a potential option, though he is expected to be even more expensive, with a reported price tag of around €43 million. Moreira, a 21-year-old Belgium international, offers a different profile to Hadj Moussa, potentially providing Dortmund with tactical flexibility.
Adeyemi joined Dortmund in 2022 from Red Bull Salzburg and has shown flashes of brilliance, but has also faced inconsistency and injury setbacks. Should he move on, Dortmund will be looking for a direct replacement capable of contributing goals and creating chances in the Bundesliga and Champions League. Securing Hadj Moussa would represent a significant investment in Dortmund’s attacking future, adding a proven goalscorer and creative threat to their squad.
This potential transfer could signal a shift in Dortmund’s attacking strategy, potentially prioritizing a more direct and dynamic winger in Hadj Moussa’s mold.
