Borussia Dortmund have emerged as potential suitors for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, according to sources at FußballTransfer. The move comes as a transfer to Juventus appears to have stalled, despite an agreement being reached on a fee. PSG are seeking around €40million for the French forward, who remains under contract with the club until 2028.
Kolo Muani spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, but struggled to establish himself in North London, scoring five goals in all competitions. His arrival at Dortmund would potentially fill a void in their attack, though the future of current forward Serhou Guirassy remains uncertain with links to Fenerbahçe intensifying. Guirassy’s release clause of approximately €40million is set to expire on July 15th, adding urgency to Dortmund’s transfer plans.
Juventus had initially reached an agreement with PSG regarding a transfer for Kolo Muani, proposing a deal that would not involve a single, upfront payment. However, the Italian club subsequently sought a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy, a structure Borussia Dortmund may also be able to accommodate. This shift in approach from Juventus appears to have opened the door for Dortmund to enter the race.
Several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, are also monitoring Kolo Muani’s situation, as reported by FußballTransfer. The 26-year-old initially rose to prominence at Eintracht Frankfurt, where his impressive goalscoring record attracted attention from top clubs across Europe. His move to PSG last summer did not yield the expected results, prompting the loan spell at Tottenham. Dortmund’s potential acquisition of Kolo Muani could provide a dynamic attacking option for the upcoming Bundesliga season, while simultaneously addressing potential departures in their forward line.
