Borussia Dortmund have re-engaged in discussions with representatives of TSG Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani, according to a report in Bild. The Bundesliga side have consistently been linked with the 23-year-old, and recent talks suggest their interest remains strong ahead of the summer transfer window.
Dortmund have reportedly reiterated their desire to sign Asllani, but have indicated that any potential deal is contingent on player departures from the squad. The club is seemingly preparing for the possibility of losing current forwards, with both Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi subject to transfer speculation. Asllani is understood to be receptive to a move to the Signal Iduna Park.
Asllani enjoyed a productive 2023-24 season with Hoffenheim, registering 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions. He has become a key player for the club, demonstrating his ability to both score and create opportunities. His form has attracted attention from other Bundesliga clubs, including RB Leipzig, who have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Bild reports that Hoffenheim have set a transfer fee of between €25 million and €30 million for Asllani. The higher valuation applies to clubs that have competed in the Champions League within the last three seasons, a factor that could affect Dortmund’s negotiating position. Dortmund qualified for the Champions League this season, finishing fourth in the Bundesliga.
Asllani has also represented Kosovo at the international level, further establishing his profile within European football. Should Dortmund successfully secure his signature, he would likely compete for a starting position in their attack, potentially bolstering their options ahead of a challenging campaign. The arrival of Asllani could provide tactical flexibility for coach Edin Terzić, adding another dimension to Dortmund’s forward line.
