Arsenal have expressed strong interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with a summer transfer now considered possible according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg. The 23-year-old’s future at PSG has been uncertain after losing his place in the starting lineup to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following the Georgian’s arrival in January.
Barcola, who joined PSG from Lyon for €45 million in 2023, has made 45 appearances this season, though only 22 of those were starts, accumulating just under 2,800 minutes of playing time. Despite PSG offering a contract extension, the France international has yet to agree to new terms, reportedly due to concerns over his role within the team.
Liverpool were previously linked with Barcola last summer, viewing him as an alternative to Alexander Isak, but PSG were firm in their stance that he was not for sale. This led Liverpool to ultimately sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for a Premier League record fee. The Reds have reportedly reignited their interest as they consider options to replace Mohamed Salah or upgrade Cody Gakpo.
Barcelona are also monitoring the situation, seeking potential alternatives to Marcus Rashford, but Barcola’s valuation may prove prohibitive. Bayern Munich, led by director Max Eberl who previously admired Barcola, have distanced themselves from a move due to the player’s wage demands, instead focusing on Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, with active talks underway. Sky Sports’ Keith Downie reports a “real chance” of Gordon moving to Bayern, though Newcastle are currently seeking a fee in the region of €75m-€85m for the winger.
Barcola’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €70.6 million, an increase since his move to PSG. While a specific fee has not yet been determined, Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Barcola’s representatives and are aware of his financial expectations. The pursuit of Barcola signals Arsenal’s intent to strengthen their attacking options this summer.
