Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has reached an agreement in principle to join Paris Saint-Germain, a move that could significantly boost Arsenal’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola. According to transfer reporter Nicolo Schira, Torres has agreed to a five-year deal with PSG and is ready to leave Camp Nou before the start of the 2026-27 season.
Torres, who has one year remaining on his contract with Barcelona, reportedly chose PSG despite interest from two Premier League clubs – Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur. The 26-year-old Spain international scored 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions last season for Barcelona, establishing himself as a consistent contributor. PSG are expected to submit an official bid to Barcelona shortly to finalize the transfer.
This potential move for Torres could open the door for Barcola to become available. French outlet L’Equipe reports that PSG would require a fee of €150 million to sell the 23-year-old winger, but contract extension talks have stalled, and Barcola is reportedly contemplating his future. He was not a regular starter in PSG’s final Champions League matches last season, with Luis Enrique preferring Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Arsenal are reportedly considering Barcola as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who is expected to join Besiktas for a fee of €20 million. The north London club, along with Liverpool, are closely monitoring Barcola’s situation. Liverpool are seeking to strengthen their forward line following Mohamed Salah’s departure on a free transfer. Arsenal are also interested in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, but Barcola remains a key target, and negotiations could begin once he returns from international duty with France. The potential acquisition of Barcola would provide Arsenal with a dynamic option on the left wing.
