Inter Milan are revisiting options to strengthen their right wing-back position following Chelsea’s acquisition of Fabiano Palazzina, according to reports in Italy. The move for Palazzina alters Inter’s summer transfer plans, prompting a renewed search for a suitable player to fill the role vacated by Denzel Dumfries and previously targeted by the club.
Inter are considering a move for Moussa Diaby, currently at Al-Ittihad. The French winger joined the Saudi Arabian club for a reported €60 million two seasons ago, but his valuation has since decreased. Diaby was previously a target for Inter in January and could be considered again as a cost-effective option.
Another player of interest is Brooke Norton-Cuffy of Genoa. The Englishman was close to joining Inter during the winter transfer window, with a deal in place contingent on Dumfries’ potential move to Liverpool. While that transfer did not materialise, Inter retain an interest, though Genoa are seeking around €18 million for the player, facing competition from Juventus, Napoli, and Fiorentina.
Inter are also evaluating Anan Khalaili, an Israeli international who plays for Union Saint-Gilloise. Khalaili is seen as tactically suited to Inter’s 3-5-2 formation, having played the role effectively in both the Belgian league and the Champions League. Napoli have also entered the race for Khalaili, with potential talks underway with the Belgian club, and a bid of around €20 million potentially enough to secure his signature.
Wesley, currently at Roma, is another profile appreciated by Inter, with both the technical staff and ownership giving their approval. However, Roma have reportedly rejected approaches from Chelsea for the Brazilian, and manager Daniele De Rossi may be reluctant to sell one of his key players despite the club’s need to generate transfer revenue to comply with UEFA’s financial regulations. Inter are proceeding cautiously, carefully evaluating all options to avoid making a hasty decision in a crucial position for coach Andrea Chivu’s system.
