Leeds United are preparing to bolster their attacking options this summer with several strikers linked to the club, including Lois Openda of Juventus. According to Football Insider, the 26-year-old Belgium international is open to a move to Elland Road, with Juventus reportedly willing to let him leave after a challenging season in Turin.
Leeds secured their Premier League status for a second season with three games to spare, finishing 16th and allowing 49ers Enterprises, the club’s owners, to begin planning for further investment in the squad. Manager Daniel Farke is prioritizing the addition of a new striker to compete with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, having previously missed out on Jorgen Strand Larsen in January.
Openda currently plays for Juventus, having an obligation to join the club permanently from RB Leipzig for a fee of £35 million. Despite the significant investment, he has struggled for consistent form in Italy, prompting speculation about his future. He has a prolific goalscoring record overall, having scored 106 goals throughout his career.
In addition to Openda, Leeds are also monitoring Wilson Isidor of Sunderland, who has scored 18 goals in 79 appearances for the Black Cats. Isidor was previously linked with a move to Leeds last summer before Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League. Everton striker Beto is also a potential target, with the club revisiting their interest from the previous transfer window.
Farke is also reportedly seeking a left-sided centre-half, a goalkeeper, a left-back, a creative attacker, and potentially another central midfielder. The focus will be on bringing in quality additions rather than simply increasing squad numbers. Discussions have also reportedly taken place regarding a move for Hidemasa Morita, and defender Ladislav Krejci, with both players reportedly keen on joining the club.
