Manchester United have been quoted a price of €30 million (£25.6m / $34m) by Barcelona for midfielder Marc Casadó, according to reports in Spain. The 22-year-old is reportedly available this summer as new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick reshapes his squad, with sporting director Deco tasked with finding a new club for the La Masia graduate.
Casadó made 15 starts across all competitions for Barcelona last season but appears to have fallen out of favour under Flick. United were previously linked with the player in early June, but Monaco withdrew from a potential deal due to reluctance to enter a bidding war. The fee quoted by Barcelona is considered attainable for United, who have already secured the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans in midfield this summer.
United have been actively reinforcing their midfield options under Michael Carrick, with the arrivals of Santos and Tielemans representing a combined investment of £85 million. Casadó’s potential arrival would further bolster those ranks, offering competition and depth in the engine room. The club are also reportedly in talks to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, though they face competition from Manchester City for the 18-year-old Moroccan international.
Lille are seeking €100 million (£85.2m, $114m) for Bouaddi, a fee that could be reduced if the player remains at the club for another year. City are reportedly ‘pushing hard’ to secure his signature, viewing him as a key addition under new manager Enzo Maresca. The interest from both Manchester clubs suggests a competitive transfer battle for the young midfielder, who impressed during Morocco’s run to the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
