Paris Saint-Germain have initiated contact with Fede Valverde’s representatives regarding a potential summer transfer, according to reports in Spain. The development comes amidst speculation surrounding the Uruguayan midfielder’s future at Real Madrid following a reported altercation with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.
Both Valverde and Tchouameni were fined €500,000 by Real Madrid for their involvement in the incident, with multiple sources indicating Valverde was the primary instigator. Reports in the Spanish media suggest that some members of the Real Madrid dressing room have expressed a desire for Valverde to be sold, anticipating potential difficulties in maintaining team harmony. Manchester United have also been linked with monitoring the situation.
El Chiringuito initially reported PSG’s contact with Valverde, a claim subsequently corroborated by Diario AS. The French club has apparently communicated to Valverde’s camp that they would be interested in a move should he become available, having previously sounded out a potential transfer in the past. Diario AS also noted past interest from Manchester City, though their current stance remains unclear.
Valverde has previously expressed strong commitment to Real Madrid, stating in the past that he would need to be “killed” to leave the club. However, a deteriorating relationship with teammates could potentially force a change of heart. Real Madrid may also see Valverde’s market value impacted by the disciplinary issues, despite the three years remaining on his current contract. President Florentino Perez has stated the club is planning a summer of signings, but exits are also anticipated.
Should Valverde depart, it would represent a significant shift for Real Madrid, who have relied on his energy and versatility in midfield. For PSG, acquiring Valverde would add further quality to their squad as they continue to build a team capable of competing for the Champions League.
