Real Madrid have completed the signing of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon for a reported fee of €80 million, officially opening their summer transfer window business. The move sees Gordon join the Spanish giants on a permanent deal as they look to bolster their attacking options under new manager Jose Mourinho. The transfer window is now open for Premier League clubs, with several deals already finalized, while Serie A clubs will be able to formally complete transfers from June 29th, and leagues such as La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 will open on July 1st.
Gordon, 23, enjoyed a productive season with Newcastle, establishing himself as a key player in their forward line. He contributed significantly with goals and assists, attracting attention from several top European clubs, including Barcelona, who ultimately missed out on securing his signature. His arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu is expected to provide competition and depth to Madrid’s existing attacking setup.
Alongside Gordon’s arrival, Real Madrid have also secured the services of Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool on a free transfer, strengthening their defensive options. They have further added to their squad with the signings of Bernardo Silva from Manchester City and Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries, signalling a busy summer for Los Blancos. These acquisitions demonstrate a clear intent to challenge for top honors both domestically and in Europe.
Liverpool have moved to replace Konate with Jeremy Jacquet, who agreed a €63.6m transfer earlier in the year. Chelsea have also been active, bringing in Geovany Quenda, Denner, Dastan Satpaev and Emmanuel Emegha. Tottenham Hotspur have signed Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi as they reshape their squad for the upcoming season. Several high-profile players, including Mohamed Salah, John Stones and Robert Lewandowski, are set to become free agents on June 30th and are currently exploring their options.
