Tottenham Hotspur have renewed their interest in Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche, according to reports, as Roberto De Zerbi seeks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season. The north London club previously monitored Akliouche last summer, but ultimately signed Xavi Simons, who is now expected to be sidelined until 2027.
Spurs have already strengthened their defence with the acquisitions of Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, while Antonin Kinsky has signed a new contract as De Zerbi’s first-choice goalkeeper. The club is also reportedly preparing a bid for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali and competing with Manchester United for West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes.
Akliouche enjoyed a productive season with Monaco, scoring seven goals and providing ten assists across all competitions. The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the standout players in Ligue 1 since making his debut for Monaco in 2023, accumulating 23 goals and 28 assists in 139 appearances.
Despite reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, who are said to be leading the race for his signature and have reportedly agreed terms with the player, Tottenham remain in contention. Fabrizio Romano reported on Saturday that PSG are ahead of two unnamed Premier League clubs, but the situation remains fluid. Akliouche is capable of playing as a right winger or a number ten, offering De Zerbi tactical flexibility.
Monaco are expected to demand a fee in the region of €60 million (£52m) for Akliouche, potentially rising to €70 million (£61m) if a bidding war ensues. The player’s contract with Monaco runs until 2028. Securing Akliouche would provide much needed depth and creativity in Tottenham’s attack, particularly with doubts surrounding the long-term future of Dejan Kulusevski.
