Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has seen his market value fall significantly this season, with a potential transfer fee now significantly lower than earlier in the campaign, according to a report by German publication Kicker. The 24-year-old's valuation has reportedly dropped due to a combination of on-field struggles and off-pitch incidents, complicating his future at the club.

Kicker reports that while a fee of around €60 million was once discussed for the German international, Dortmund may now only be able to command a fee in the region of €30-40 million if they decide to sell him this summer. This marks a substantial drop in the player's perceived market value over the course of the season, reflecting his challenging year.

Adeyemi's season has been marred by inconsistency and controversy. In November, he was fined €450,000 by German prosecutors for illegal possession of weapons while on international duty, an incident that caused significant negative attention. On the pitch, he has struggled for consistent form, scoring just 10 goals and providing five assists in 37 appearances across all competitions this season. His form has been inconsistent, leading to him falling in and out of the starting lineup under manager Edin Terzić.

Further complicating matters, the 24-year-old faced criticism from the Dortmund hierarchy in December for his reaction to being substituted during a match, an incident that highlighted the growing tension. With his current contract running until 2027, a long-term extension at Signal Iduna Park now appears increasingly unlikely, according to the Kicker report. The club is reportedly open to a sale if a suitable offer arrives, as they look to the summer transfer window.
