Juventus owner John Elkann has pledged support for a significant transfer window despite missing out on Champions League qualification, following a meeting with club management and manager Luciano Spalletti. The summit, held today, aimed to address recent tensions between Elkann’s representative Damien Comolli and Spalletti, and to establish a unified plan for strengthening the squad ahead of next season.
According to reports from Italy, the meeting focused on identifying key areas for improvement within the Juventus squad. Spalletti has repeatedly emphasized the need for experienced, established players, rather than relying on developing talent. Specific targets discussed included a new goalkeeper to replace the currently uncertain Marco Di Gregorio, with previous interest in Alisson Becker having faced complications.
Strengthening the defense is also a priority, with Spalletti reportedly keen on a ball-playing centre-back. Kim Min-jae, previously managed by Spalletti at Napoli, has been identified as a potential target, potentially arriving on loan as part of a deal that could see Bremer move to Bayern Munich. Further forward, the manager is seeking a creative attacking midfielder, with Brahim Diaz of Real Madrid emerging as a candidate.
The club also intends to renew the contract of striker Dusan Vlahovic, whom Spalletti considers central to his project. However, negotiations with Vlahovic’s representatives are currently stalled, with Juventus offering a contract worth €7 million per year including bonuses, but failing to reach agreement on signing fees and agent commissions. Elkann reportedly impressed upon Comolli the need for a substantial improvement in the club’s transfer strategy, acknowledging past mistakes and emphasizing the importance of a successful window. Elkann believes he has provided Comolli with the necessary resources to achieve this goal, despite the need for financial prudence.
This meeting signals a renewed commitment to unity within the Juventus hierarchy, aiming to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for Serie A honors.
