Fenerbahce are determined to retain the services of left-back Archie Brown, despite reported interest from several Premier League clubs, according to TEAMtalk. The Turkish side have internally indicated they do not intend to sell the 24-year-old after just one season in Istanbul.
Nottingham Forest previously saw an approach for Brown rejected earlier this summer. More recently, intermediaries representing both Chelsea and Manchester United have enquired about the player’s availability. Both clubs are seeking to strengthen their options at left-back ahead of the new season.
Chelsea are in the market following Marc Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid and are looking to provide competition for Jorrel Hato. The Blues had previously considered Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo, who ultimately chose a return to Atletico Madrid, and negotiations with Rayo Vallecano’s Pep Chavarria have stalled. Chelsea scouts have reportedly been impressed with Brown’s performances in the Turkish Super Lig.
Sources suggest Brown’s athleticism, attacking prowess, and versatility align with the tactical vision of new Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso. Manchester United also retain an interest in the player, having tracked him before his £7million move from Gent to Fenerbahce last summer and continuing to monitor his progress.
Brown enjoyed a successful first campaign in Turkey after joining from Belgium, establishing himself as a dynamic attacking full-back in the Super Lig. He previously progressed through the youth systems at West Bromwich Albion and Derby County before continuing his professional development overseas. Despite the attention from England, Fenerbahce are currently resolute in their stance and view Brown as a key part of their long-term plans, with no indication they are willing to consider offers at this time.
