Fiorentina have agreed a deal to sign Arthur Atta from Udinese, the club confirmed overnight. The transfer sees the 2003-born midfielder move to Florence for a reported €30 million, plus bonuses which could see the fee rise to €40 million. Udinese will also retain a 30% sell-on percentage for any future transfer of Atta.
Fiorentina’s sporting director, Fabio Paratici, spearheaded the move, reportedly completing the deal with a swift intervention to beat competition from other Serie A clubs and teams in the Premier League. According to Sky Sports, Paratici had previously been interested in signing Atta during his time at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Frenchman arrived at Udinese from Metz in the summer of 2024 and quickly established himself as a key player. Across 59 Serie A appearances, Atta has scored five goals and provided four assists. He notably scored in both of Udinese’s victories against Inter and Milan at the San Siro last season, and also registered a brace against Lazio in October.
Atta is currently en route to Florence to undergo a medical and finalise the terms of his contract. He will become Fiorentina’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Viery and Radu Dragusin. The midfielder is expected to sign a contract that runs until June 30, 2031, with an annual salary of €2.5 million. Udinese will see a significant return on their investment, having purchased Atta from Metz for €8 million just two years ago.
The acquisition of Atta strengthens Fiorentina’s midfield options ahead of the upcoming season and provides coach Vincenzo Italiano with another dynamic player. The transfer represents a shrewd piece of business for Paratici, adding a highly-rated young talent to the Viola’s squad.
