Eintracht Frankfurt’s potential deal to sign Noel Aseko from Bayern Munich is reportedly not yet complete, despite claims of an agreement earlier on Wednesday. Sport1 initially reported that the Bundesliga clubs had reached an understanding for a transfer in the region of €10-12 million, but Kicker has since stated that negotiations remain ongoing.
Aseko’s path to a potential move to Frankfurt is somewhat circuitous, having only recently returned to Bayern Munich. Following a successful loan spell at Hannover 96, where he scored three goals and registered six assists in 32 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga last season, Bayern activated a buyback clause in his contract. This clause had been initially triggered when Hannover made the loan permanent, allowing Bayern to bring the 20-year-old midfielder back to the Allianz Arena.
The discrepancy in reported fees suggests a significant gap in valuation between the two clubs. While Sport1 indicates Frankfurt believed a deal could be struck for between €10-12 million, Kicker claims Bayern are holding firm and are seeking a fee of €15 million for Aseko. This difference could be a key stumbling block in finalizing any potential transfer.
Frankfurt are likely seeking midfield reinforcement ahead of the new season, and Aseko represents a promising young talent with proven ability in the German second tier. Bayern, meanwhile, may be willing to part with the player if their valuation is met, potentially freeing up space in their squad and generating a profit on a player they recently re-signed. The outcome of the negotiations will likely depend on whether Frankfurt are prepared to meet Bayern’s demands or if a compromise can be reached. A successful transfer would provide Aseko with the opportunity to showcase his abilities in the Bundesliga, while offering Frankfurt a dynamic addition to their midfield options.
