Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi is increasingly likely to leave the club this summer after a challenging season, according to reports from Milan. The Italy international, who scored a memorable late goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final last May, has struggled for consistent playing time and impact this campaign.
Frattesi’s appearances have been limited, totaling just two minutes against Parma, four against Torino, and six against Cagliari in recent Serie A matches. He also endured a difficult international duty period with the national team, further compounding a season marked by physical setbacks and a struggle to find a consistent tactical role within the Inter squad. Previously known for his impactful runs from midfield, Frattesi has failed to replicate that form this season.
Despite his difficulties, Frattesi has an opportunity to finish the season strongly, with Inter facing Lazio in both Serie A and the Coppa Italia over the next five days. These matches represent a chance to impress and potentially reignite interest from clubs previously linked with him, including Roma, Napoli, and Juventus. Interest also remains from the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest particularly keen.
Last summer, Nottingham Forest reportedly offered around €35 million for Frattesi, a figure Inter initially considered. While it is anticipated that offers this summer will be lower, Forest remains attentive to the situation. Juventus, managed by Luciano Spalletti – who previously coached Frattesi with the Italian national team – are also monitoring the player, as are Roma, potentially as part of a wider deal involving midfielder Manu Koné. The upcoming matches in Rome, along with the celebrations of Inter’s Serie A title win, may not drastically alter Frattesi’s future, but could provide a more positive conclusion to an otherwise underwhelming season.
