Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi is likely to leave the club this summer following a challenging season, according to reports from Milan. The 24-year-old has struggled for consistent playing time and impact, a stark contrast to his heroics during Inter’s Champions League run last year.
Frattesi’s appearances have been limited in recent weeks, with just two minutes played against Parma, four against Torino, and six against Cagliari. This follows a string of substitute appearances and a difficult international duty with Italy, failing to make a significant contribution on the pitch. This downturn in form is a considerable shift from the player who scored a crucial goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final last May, a strike that sealed Inter’s place in the final.
Despite the disappointing campaign, Frattesi will have an opportunity to showcase his abilities in upcoming matches against Lazio, both in Serie A and the Coppa Italia. These games represent a chance to potentially reignite interest from clubs that previously monitored his situation, including Roma, Napoli, and Juventus. Interest also remains from the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest having previously made a bid of around €35 million during the summer transfer window.
While a similar offer is unlikely now, Nottingham Forest continue to track Frattesi, as do Juventus, managed by former Italy coach Luciano Spalletti, who previously relied on Frattesi’s goalscoring ability within the national team setup. Roma are also potential suitors, with speculation suggesting a deal involving midfielder Manu Koné could be explored. Inter’s valuation of Frattesi is expected to be lower than the previous offer from Nottingham Forest, but the club remains open to offers. The upcoming matches offer a final opportunity for Frattesi to influence his future, although a significant turnaround appears unlikely given his recent form.
