Dusan Vlahovic has cast a shadow of doubt over his future at Juventus, despite a two-goal performance in the Turin derby on Saturday. While the Serbian striker’s brace signaled his quality, it also came amidst speculation regarding his long-term commitment to the club, with his current contract set to expire on June 30th.
Vlahovic scored in both halves of the derby, mirroring his performance in his first match against Torino in October 2022. This latest display brought his Serie A tally to eight goals for the 2025-26 season, ensuring he has reached double figures in league goals for several consecutive years, dating back to his time at Fiorentina. However, these goals were not enough to secure Champions League qualification for Juventus.
Negotiations for a contract renewal are expected to begin in the coming days, with both Vlahovic’s father, Milos, and the Juventus board involved. Vlahovic currently earns €12 million annually and is reportedly unwilling to accept a salary below €8 million. Juventus, however, are hesitant to offer a deal exceeding the €7 million earned by Kenan Yildiz, further complicated by potential signing bonuses and commission fees. The possibility of performance-based variables could bridge the gap, but Juventus CEO Giovanni Comolli appears unwilling to significantly increase the offer.
A key factor influencing Vlahovic’s future is the potential interest from other top European clubs. If a more lucrative offer emerges, Vlahovic may be tempted to leave Turin. The club is waiting to see if any major bids materialize in the coming weeks. His recent performance has undoubtedly put him on the radar of several clubs, demonstrating his ability to consistently find the net when fit. The uncertainty surrounding his future will likely dominate headlines as the transfer window approaches, with his next destination remaining an open question.
