Harry Kane Fit for Bayern Munich's Champions League Clash with Real Madrid
Harry Kane has been included in the Bayern Munich squad for their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid, the club has confirmed. The England captain had been a doubt for the crucial match after missing the weekend's Bundesliga fixture with an ankle issue.
Kane, who has been left out of the squad for the last two matches, has been training separately in recent days. Bayern manager Vincent Kompany expressed cautious optimism about the striker's fitness earlier in the week, and the 30-year-old has now been passed fit to travel with the squad to the Spanish capital for the first leg on Tuesday.
Kane's return is a significant boost for the German giants. The former Tottenham striker has been in prolific form this season, scoring 48 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions since his high-profile move from Tottenham Hotspur last summer. His presence is considered vital for Bayern's chances against the 14-time European champions, Real Madrid.
Despite Kane's absence in the previous round, Bayern demonstrated their attacking depth by thrashing Atalanta 5-0 in the second leg of their round of 16 tie. However, the England captain remains the focal point of their attack, forming a potent partnership with wingers Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala, and his clinical finishing will be crucial against Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Kane's 48 goals in all competitions this season have been a cornerstone of Bayern's campaign, and his return from a minor ankle problem comes at a pivotal moment. The first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu is poised to be a defining moment in Bayern's season, as they seek to salvage their campaign by pursuing European glory. The second leg will be held at the Allianz Arena on April 17th.
