Harvey Elliott's agent offers Liverpool outcast to Leeds United
Leeds United are among several Premier League clubs to have been approached about a potential summer move for Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, according to an exclusive report from TEAMtalk. The 23-year-old is expected to leave Anfield after being informed he has no future under manager Arne Slot, with his representatives now actively seeking a new club for the playmaker.
Elliott spent the past season on loan at Aston Villa, but the move turned sour after manager Unai Emery reportedly decided against retaining him. The deal contained an obligation to buy for a reported £35 million if Elliott made ten appearances, a trigger Villa actively avoided by limiting him to just 110 minutes of league football. He is now due to return to Liverpool, only to be told his path to first-team football is blocked.
Sources indicate that Elliott's camp initially inquired about a second chance to impress Slot at Liverpool, but that request was rebuffed. The club's stance is that a permanent departure is in the best interests of all parties. Consequently, the player's agency has begun circulating his name to potential suitors within the Premier League.
Alongside Leeds, the report states that approaches have also been made to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford. Both clubs could be in the market for squad depth if they secure European qualification for next season. A return to Fulham, where Elliott began his professional career as a record-breaking teenager, is considered unlikely following their January signing of Oscar Bobb from Manchester City. Long-term interest from Newcastle United has also reportedly cooled.
For Leeds, any move for Elliott would come after the club addresses other priorities. Manager Daniel Farke is said to be focusing the majority of the summer budget on a new goalkeeper, a striker, and a left-sided defender. The club's interest in Elliott is at an early stage, and they are yet to learn what transfer fee Liverpool would demand for the player.
Elliott's career has stalled after a promising period where he was viewed as a future star for Liverpool. He now faces a critical summer window to reignite his prospects at the highest level. The coming weeks are expected to see increased activity as his representatives aim to secure a swift resolution ahead of pre-season.
