Hervé Renard has finalized his coaching staff for the Tunisia national team, with Frédéric Biancalani appointed as his assistant. Biancalani previously managed Fleury, and returns to a coaching role after departing the club at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Notably, Wahbi Khazri is the only member of the previous staff, overseen by Sabri Lamouchi, to be retained by Renard. Khazri will continue in his role as responsible for analysis and performance, and will be supported by Alexandre Kerveillant, Helmi Kchou, and Anis Ben Mlik.
Gilles Fouache, who previously served as the goalkeeping coach for the French women’s national team under Corinne Diacre, will maintain the same position with Tunisia. Fouache followed Renard from his previous role as manager of Saudi Arabia. David Barriac and Anas Gazouz will be responsible for the team’s physical preparation.
Renard’s appointment as Tunisia’s manager was confirmed earlier this year, marking a return to African football for the experienced coach. He previously managed several African nations, including Zambia, Ivory Coast, and Morocco, achieving significant success including winning the Africa Cup of Nations with both Zambia and Ivory Coast. This appointment sees him tasked with revitalizing the Tunisian national team, who have experienced mixed results in recent international competitions. The new staff will be looking to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for qualification to major tournaments.
The composition of Renard’s staff suggests a focus on both technical expertise and physical conditioning, aiming to create a well-rounded and prepared team.
