Hoffenheim have reached a verbal agreement with Anderlecht midfielder Nathan De Cat, according to Sky Germany. The Bundesliga club have reportedly agreed personal terms with the 17-year-old on a contract that will run until 2031.
De Cat broke into the Anderlecht first team last season but truly established himself as a key player during the most recent campaign in the Belgian Pro League. The young midfielder made 36 league appearances, scoring twice and providing four assists, quickly gaining recognition as one of Belgium’s most promising talents.
His performances earned De Cat a senior international debut for Belgium in March, when he appeared as a substitute in a friendly match against the United States. The call-up highlighted the growing belief in his potential within the national setup.
While personal terms are agreed, negotiations between Hoffenheim and Anderlecht are now set to commence to determine a transfer fee. The clubs still have significant discussion ahead to finalize the permanent move. Hoffenheim are actively strengthening their squad this summer, having also recently reached an agreement to sign Kodai Sano from NEC Nijmegen.
De Cat’s arrival would add further depth and youthful energy to Hoffenheim’s midfield options. The move represents a significant opportunity for the Belgian teenager to develop his game in one of Europe’s top five leagues and potentially become a key player for the Bundesliga side.
