TSG Hoffenheim are set to pursue a deal for Werder Bremen midfielder Jens Stage after the player agreed personal terms, according to Sky Germany. The 29-year-old has reportedly agreed a contract with Hoffenheim that will run until 2030.
Hoffenheim have already submitted an initial bid of €11 million, plus potential bonuses, to Werder Bremen for Stage, but it remains to be seen if that offer will be sufficient to secure the player’s signature. Werder Bremen are expected to hold out for a higher fee, recognising Stage’s importance to their squad.
Stage has been a consistent performer for Werder Bremen in recent seasons, establishing himself as a key figure in midfield. He was the club’s top scorer in the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign, netting 10 goals in 29 appearances. His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively makes him a valuable asset.
Jens Stage joined Werder Bremen in 2022 from FC Copenhagen, quickly becoming a fan favourite with his energetic displays and goal-scoring ability. Prior to his move to Germany, Stage spent several years in Denmark, developing through the Copenhagen youth system and establishing himself as a regular in their first team. He also has experience playing in the Europa League with Copenhagen.
Hoffenheim are looking to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season, and Stage’s arrival would provide manager Pellegrino Matarazzo with another experienced and versatile player. The potential signing of Stage could allow Hoffenheim to further implement their tactical plans and compete higher in the Bundesliga table. Werder Bremen, meanwhile, will need to find a suitable replacement if they are to part ways with one of their key players.
