Werder Bremen midfielder Jens Stage is a target for TSG Hoffenheim this summer, with the player confirming his willingness to consider a move. The 29-year-old has reportedly agreed personal terms with Hoffenheim, though the two clubs have yet to finalize a deal.
Stage revealed his openness to a transfer in an interview with Danish broadcaster TV 2, stating he had anticipated exploring options during this window. He explained that he and his family were seeking a move they considered more attractive than remaining at Werder Bremen, and he was approaching the situation “calmly.”
Werder Bremen signed Stage from FC Copenhagen in 2022, and he has since become a key figure in their midfield. Last season, the Danish international was the club’s top scorer with 10 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions, demonstrating his growing influence and attacking contributions. His performances have attracted attention from fellow Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
According to reports, Hoffenheim submitted an initial bid of €9 million for Stage, which Werder Bremen rejected. Negotiations are expected to continue as Hoffenheim seek to meet Werder’s valuation of the player. The Sinsheim club are looking to bolster their squad ahead of next season, and see Stage as a valuable addition to their midfield options.
Should a deal be agreed, Stage’s move to Hoffenheim would represent a significant step in his career, allowing him to continue playing in the Bundesliga while potentially competing at a higher level. For Werder Bremen, losing their top scorer would be a blow, requiring them to seek replacements in the transfer market to maintain their attacking threat.
