Napoli forward Rasmus Hojlund is fully integrated into the club’s plans under new manager Massimiliano Allegri, with the coach aiming to maximize the player’s goal-scoring potential. Hojlund has been present from the start of pre-season training, a departure from his previous experiences with Atalanta and Inter, where he joined training camps later in the summer.
Allegri intends to refine Hojlund’s game, specifically focusing on improving his presence in the penalty area and making him more lethal in front of goal. Previous manager Antonio Conte played a key role in Hojlund’s development, building his confidence and establishing him as a central figure within the team. Now, Allegri seeks to build upon that foundation and transform the Danish international into a consistent goalscorer.
Hojlund’s physical condition is described as excellent, demonstrating impressive stamina and a relentless work rate in training. He has already made a positive impression on the Napoli squad, showcasing his ability to attack space and finish chances with both feet. Allegri previously attempted to sign Hojlund last summer while at AC Milan, but Napoli successfully secured his services.
The club completed the permanent transfer of Hojlund from Manchester United for a fee of €44 million. He immediately made an impact, equalling his career-best goal tally of 16 in a single season and subsequently surpassing it with 12 goals in Serie A. Hojlund is determined to compete for the league’s Golden Boot and to improve upon his Champions League record of three goals, aiming to guide Napoli through the group stages this season. He has signed a long-term contract with Napoli, extending to 2030, which includes a release clause of nearly €90 million, effective from 2027. Hojlund is viewed as a key player for the future and a potential talisman under Allegri’s leadership.
