Arijon Ibrahimović is set to remain with FC Bayern Munich for the upcoming season, having spent the previous campaign on loan at Heidenheim, according to a report from Kicker’s Frank Linkesch. The 20-year-old is now expected to compete for a role as backup to Luis Díaz on the left wing, a position Bayern initially hoped to fill with another signing.
Bayern had identified Anthony Gordon as a potential reinforcement but saw the English international join FC Barcelona, prompting a reassessment of their options. While Ismael Saibari was subsequently signed, he is primarily a central player, leaving an opening for Ibrahimović to contribute on the flank. This represents a significant opportunity for the young German, who has been loaned out three times previously in his career.
Ibrahimović’s previous loan spells with Frosinone and Lazio in Italy did not yield significant playing time, but his performance with Heidenheim last season offered a positive indication of his potential. Despite Heidenheim’s relegation from the Bundesliga, Ibrahimović finished the season strongly, contributing two goals and an assist in his final three appearances.
