Genoa confirm Val di Fassa as pre-season training base for fourth year
Genoa have confirmed their first-team squad will return to Val di Fassa for their summer pre-season training camp, marking the fourth consecutive year the Serie A club has chosen the Trentino region. According to an official club announcement, the Rossoblù will be based at the Centro Sportivo Benatti in Moena from 15 to 26 July, under the guidance of head coach Daniele De Rossi.
The club has already scheduled two pre-season friendlies during the camp. Genoa will face Trento on Sunday, 19 July, followed by a match against Vicenza on Saturday, 25 July. The club also plans to establish a Genoa Village around the training ground, a fan zone designed to host events and facilitate meetings between supporters and players. The broader schedule includes the official team presentation and evening events aimed at strengthening ties with both fans and local residents.
The decision underscores a continued partnership between Genoa, the Apt Val di Fassa, and Trentino Marketing. Club general manager Flavio Ricciardella highlighted the mutual satisfaction with the facilities and the deepening relationship, which is now expanding to include new initiatives with local commercial entities. The club also announced Schooner Viaggi as its new official travel partner, tasked with managing travel and accommodation packages for fans wishing to attend the training camp.
While the first team prepares in the mountains, Genoa's youth setup will also be active in the region. The club has confirmed dates for its Genoa Mountain Camp in Vigo di Fassa, which will run in three sessions between 7 and 25 July, overseen by coaches from the club's academy and football school. Additionally, the Genoa Beach Camp will take place in Arenzano on the Ligurian coast in June across two separate sessions, offering a combined experience of mountain and seaside training for young players.
This consistent approach to pre-season planning provides stability for De Rossi and his squad as they build their foundations for the 2026-27 campaign. The choice of a familiar, high-altitude location allows for focused physical preparation away from distractions, a routine the club has evidently found beneficial in recent seasons. The confirmed friendlies against lower-league opposition in Trento and Vicenza will offer early opportunities to assess fitness and integrate any new signings ahead of the more rigorous tests of the Serie A season.
