Inter have reached a definitive agreement with Union Saint-Gilloise for the permanent transfer of Israeli winger Anan Khalaili, for a fee of €25 million plus bonuses. The player is set to undergo a medical examination tomorrow, with the deal expected to be completed before the start of Inter’s new season on Monday, according to reports in Italy.
Khalaili has emerged as Inter’s primary target to fill the right-wingback position vacated by Denzel Dumfries, who recently completed a move to Real Madrid. The transfer represents a significant investment for the Nerazzurri, but one they evidently deemed necessary to reinforce their squad ahead of a challenging campaign. Inter officials, including Cristian Chivu, will now be able to include Khalaili in their team planning.
The 26-year-old has impressed with Union Saint-Gilloise since joining the Belgian side, establishing himself as a key player with his pace and attacking contributions. He featured prominently as Union SG challenged at the top of the Belgian Pro League. Khalaili’s arrival at Inter provides competition and depth in a crucial position.
Khalaili is expected to sign a five-year contract with Inter, earning approximately €2.2 million net per season. The swift conclusion of the transfer was aided by the player’s clear preference for a move to the San Siro, with today’s meeting proving decisive in finalizing the agreement. Inter aimed to finalize the deal before the start of the season, and have successfully done so.
This transfer strengthens Inter’s options on the right flank and provides a long-term solution in a position that needed addressing following Dumfries’ departure. Khalaili’s arrival signals Inter’s ambition to compete at the highest level both domestically and in Europe.
