Inter are nearing a deal to sign Oumar Solet from Udinese, with negotiations progressing well according to reports in Italy. The 23-year-old centre-back has emerged as a key target for the Nerazzurri as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of the upcoming season.
A recent trip to Brazil for Solet included a meeting with former Inter striker Adriano, sparking further speculation about his potential move to Milan. Solet reportedly expressed his enthusiasm for the city to Adriano, having previously stated his desire to live there in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. He grew up watching Adriano play and now has the chance to follow in his footsteps.
Inter have already submitted an initial offer to Udinese, though the transfer may take slightly longer to finalize due to the club’s current focus on securing Marco Palestra. However, the gap between the two clubs has reportedly narrowed in recent weeks, and Inter are expected to make a decisive push early next week, coinciding with preparations for the pre-season training camp.
Sources indicate that Solet is eager to join Inter and has already reached a preliminary agreement with the club. The defender enjoyed a strong season with Udinese, establishing himself as a reliable presence in their backline. He made 31 appearances in Serie A, contributing to seven clean sheets. Solet’s arrival at Inter would provide competition for places alongside Alessandro Bastoni and Francesco Acerbi, adding depth to Simone Inzaghi’s squad. The move represents a significant step up in his career, offering him the opportunity to compete at a higher level and potentially play in the Champions League.
With the player’s desire to join and an agreement in principle already in place, the transfer appears to be nearing completion, with Solet’s move to Inter looking increasingly likely.
