Inter are nearing an agreement to sign Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise, according to reports in Italy. The Israeli international winger has reportedly informed Union SG that he wishes to avoid any pre-season commitments that could jeopardize a potential move to the Serie A club.
Khalaili missed a recent friendly match against Steaua Bucharest and will also sit out Saturday’s game against Aarhus, the former club of Inter defender Yann Bisseck. This absence is not due to injury, but rather a proactive measure taken by the player to ensure the transfer proceeds smoothly. Union SG have granted his request, reportedly anticipating a transfer fee of around €20 million, representing a significant profit on the €6.5 million they paid Maccabi Haifa for him two seasons ago.
The financial terms between Inter and Khalaili have reportedly been agreed upon, with a five-year contract worth approximately €1.7 million per season. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, with Inter aiming to stay below a €25 million transfer fee, while Union SG are seeking to maximize their return given Khalaili’s value and the limited availability of comparable players.
Khalaili, 27, has established himself as a key player for Union SG since joining in 2022, contributing goals and assists from the right wing. He has also become a regular in the Israel national team, earning 34 caps. Inter manager Simone Inzaghi is reportedly seeking to bolster his options on the wing, and Khalaili’s profile fits the club’s requirements. The completion of this transfer would provide Inter with a dynamic attacking option and further strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The expectation is that the deal could be finalized before Union SG’s friendly against Aarhus on June 11th, allowing Khalaili to formally join Inter as a player.
