Inter Milan are aiming to generate €100 million through the sale of surplus players this transfer window, according to reports from Italy. The club is looking to capitalize on players who do not feature in coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans, with the funds intended to bolster the squad beyond the planned acquisition of a right-sided winger.
Following a setback in their pursuit of Udinese’s Giovanni Palestra, Inter are now evaluating six to seven players within their squad who could be moved on. The potential departures of these players could significantly alter the club’s transfer strategy this summer. While achieving the €100 million target is the primary goal, any amount raised will be considered a positive outcome.
Players identified as potential departures include Benjamin Pavard, Kristjan Asllani, Lucien Agoumé, Eddie Salcedo, Davide Frattesi, and Aleksandar Stankovic. While some, like Salcedo and Stankovic, may only be sold in response to substantial offers, the likelihood of Pavard, Asllani, and Agoumé remaining at Inter for the upcoming season appears slim. Pavard, returning from a loan spell at Marseille, is deemed surplus to requirements and earns a significant salary, with the club hoping to secure a fee of around €10 million for him. Asllani, also back from a loan, faces a similar situation, with Inter seeking a similar fee. Agoumé, after a bureaucratic issue prevented a permanent move from Pisa, could also be sold for approximately €10 million.
More prominent names linked with potential exits are Davide Frattesi and Luis Henrique. Frattesi, signed for €25 million including bonuses just a year ago, has reportedly attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, who could offer up to €30 million for his services, with Serie A clubs also monitoring the situation. Luis Henrique, while frequently used, has not fully convinced, and Bournemouth remains interested, potentially offering between €20 and €30 million. Stankovic is keen to prove himself during the pre-season training camp in Germany, but would consider a departure for a fee exceeding €40 million. If Inter successfully offload these players under their desired conditions, it could open up further opportunities in the transfer market.
