Inter Milan are preparing a third bid for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, reportedly valuing the player around £25 million, according to TEAMtalk. Liverpool have so far rejected two previous offers, the latest of which was worth £21 million, but are seeking a fee closer to £30 million for the England international.
The Serie A champions have identified Jones as a priority target and have been pursuing a deal since the January transfer window. Liverpool, however, are holding firm on their valuation, citing recent high-profile transfers in the Premier League – such as Elliot Anderson to Newcastle United for £116 million and Sandro Tonali to the same club for £100 million – as justification for their asking price.
Jones, who has just 12 months remaining on his current contract at Anfield, is reportedly encouraged by Inter’s continued interest and is open to a move to the San Siro. While the 22-year-old is prepared to compete for his place under new Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola, he believes his opportunities for regular first-team football would be greater in Milan.
Liverpool are currently comfortable with their midfield options and do not view signing a replacement as a priority if Jones remains with the club. However, the club has made it clear that they would enter the market for a new central midfielder should Jones depart before the end of the transfer window. The situation is currently structured such that a sale of Jones would trigger the pursuit of a midfield replacement.
Jones featured in 35 games across all competitions for Liverpool last season, contributing with 3 goals and 3 assists. He has been with the Liverpool first team since 2019, progressing through the club’s academy system. A move to Inter would offer him the chance to establish himself as a key player in a top European league.
