Inter Milan are working to secure the signings of goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, defender Oumar Solet, and midfielder Curtis Jones ahead of their pre-season training camp in Germany, which begins on July 16th. The club aims to present coach Cristian Chivu with a bolstered squad featuring at least four new faces for the camp in Donaueschingen.
The arrival of Josep Martinez as the starting goalkeeper, following Yann Sommer’s impending departure, has allowed Inter to redirect funds previously allocated for a goalkeeper – initially around €20 million – towards other areas of the squad. As a result, they have turned their attention to Lazio’s Ivan Provedel, who is expected to join for a fee of approximately €3 million. Provedel will compete with Martinez for playing time and aims to secure a significant role in the team.
Oumar Solet of Udinese is identified as the primary target to reinforce the defense, particularly with the expected departures of Francesco Acerbi and Darmian, and the uncertain future of Stefan de Vrij, who is currently considering a contract renewal offer. While negotiations with Udinese continue, Solet is eager to complete the move to Milan.
The potential signing of Curtis Jones from Liverpool presents a more complex challenge. Inter are reportedly offering around €20 million for the English midfielder, while Liverpool are seeking approximately €30 million, including a percentage of any future sale. Inter are relying on Jones’ desire to join the club and his expiring contract, which is set to run out in one year, to facilitate the transfer. Beyond the six players currently involved in international tournaments – Akanji, Calhanoglu, Sucic, Bonny, Lautaro, and Thuram – Chivu is expected to have a largely complete squad available for the start of the training camp, including both established players and the new additions.
