Inter Milan are intensifying their pursuit of Udinese defender Oumar Solet, with the Serie A champions prepared to offer a substantial bid for the French centre-back. According to reports in Italy, Udinese are holding firm on a €25 million valuation for the player.
Solet has emerged as a key target for Inter as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of next season. Manager Cristian Chivu is reportedly a strong admirer of Solet’s playing style, believing his ability to advance with the ball aligns with the team’s tactical approach. The Nerazzurri aim to secure Solet before their pre-season retreat in July.
Solet first made an impact in Serie A by scoring against Inter in March 2025, a match that highlighted his potential to top-level clubs. The 24-year-old has continued to develop into a standout performer for Udinese, showcasing a unique blend of physicality and dribbling skills. This past season, he ranked tenth in Serie A for successful dribbles, achieving a league-leading 66.1% success rate. He also led the league in progressive runs with the ball and total distance covered while dribbling.
Udinese recognize Solet’s value, having acquired him as a free agent. Inter are exploring a deal structured as an expensive loan with an obligation to buy, effectively a permanent transfer contingent on easily achievable conditions. This approach would allow Inter to spread the cost of the transfer while satisfying Udinese’s valuation. Solet has reportedly expressed a clear preference for a move to Inter, dismissing interest from clubs in France and England, and has previously spoken fondly of Milan.
The successful completion of this transfer would represent a significant addition to Inter’s squad, providing depth and quality in their defensive line. For Udinese, it would represent a substantial profit on a player they signed without a transfer fee, further solidifying their reputation as a selling club.
