Liverpool, under newly appointed manager Andoni Iraola, are reportedly interested in signing Bournemouth forward Rayan, according to a report from The i Paper. The 19-year-old Brazilian joined Bournemouth in January from Vasco da Gama and quickly made an impact, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 15 Premier League appearances.
Rayan’s impressive form earned him a call-up to the Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup, and has attracted significant transfer interest, particularly from Liverpool. Iraola, who played a key role in convincing Bournemouth to sign Rayan during the winter transfer window, is believed to be a “huge fan” of the player, potentially easing negotiations.
However, a move will not occur until at least January 2027, as Bournemouth are determined to retain the forward this summer after his recent arrival. A release clause of €150 million will become active at that time, reflecting the club’s valuation of the promising young talent. The potential pursuit of Rayan is linked to the departure of Mohamed Salah, whose contract with Liverpool is set to expire this summer.
Liverpool have already secured the signing of Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais, but are actively seeking further reinforcements, particularly in defence following Ibrahima Konate’s impending departure on a free transfer. Jan Paul van Hecke of Brighton & Hove Albion is among the defensive options being considered, though Liverpool will face competition from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. They are also targeting RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande as a potential replacement for Salah.
Bournemouth themselves may face a challenging summer retaining key players, with Eli Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott also linked with moves away, especially as the club prepares for a Europa League campaign. The situation highlights the growing challenge for clubs outside the traditional ‘big six’ to hold onto their brightest prospects.
