Juventus are in advanced negotiations to sign forward Denis Pellegrino from Parma, though the clubs remain apart on the structure of a deal. According to reports in Italy, Juventus initially proposed a loan with an obligation to buy, offering a €5 million loan fee and a €25 million obligation to buy, plus a further €5 million in achievable bonuses. Parma rejected this offer, prioritizing an immediate influx of funds.
Parma’s reluctance stems from a need for immediate liquidity to finance their own transfer business, including finding a replacement for Pellegrino. The club is reportedly considering several options, including another forward from the Argentinian league. They have informed Juventus they would be willing to accept a lower fee for Pellegrino, but only if the Bianconeri commit to a permanent transfer.
Reports suggest Parma are now seeking around €22 million plus bonuses, with the total package potentially reaching €26-28 million. Juventus are aware of competition from abroad, with one unnamed Premier League club reportedly prepared to offer €28 million outright for the player. This has prompted Parma to urge Juventus to finalize a deal quickly, as Pellegrino himself is keen on a move to Turin.
Pellegrino has been a subject of interest for Juventus for some time, with initial scouting reports taking place at the end of June. The potential signing comes amid uncertainty surrounding other attacking targets for Juventus, including Samuel Kolo Muani, and questions over the future of Dusan Vlahovic. Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is reportedly eager to have Pellegrino as one of his two primary forwards for the upcoming season. The club is under pressure to secure reinforcements before departing for their pre-season tour in two weeks.
