Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Matteo Ruggeri from Atlético Madrid, according to statements made by the player’s representatives following meetings in Milan. Agent Manuel Montipò highlighted Ruggeri’s strong season, noting he has featured in 48 matches and provided seven assists, establishing himself as a key player for the Spanish club.
Montipò stated that while there is currently no concrete offer, several top clubs are monitoring Ruggeri, and Juventus is among them. He emphasized Atlético Madrid’s satisfaction with the player, but acknowledged the open nature of the transfer market. Tullio Tinti, Montipò’s associate, further confirmed Juventus’s interest, stating simply, “I know it.”
Ruggeri, formerly of Atalanta, is currently valued at approximately €25 million. His profile has been presented to Juventus’s sporting director, Pietro Comolli, as a potential replacement for Andrea Cambiaso, who is attracting attention from Barcelona and other foreign clubs. Inter Milan have also been linked, though a move there is reportedly unlikely unless part of a swap deal involving Atlético players.
Separately, Juventus are also exploring a deal for Alexander Sorloth, the Atlético Madrid striker. Sorloth is reportedly keen on joining Juventus and leading their attack, attracted by the prospect of regular first-team football. However, a significant gap remains between Juventus’s offer of €25 million and Atlético’s asking price of around €40 million.
There is also potential for a move in the opposite direction, with Atlético Madrid reportedly expressing interest in Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract expires at the end of the month. While no formal offer has been made, Atlético have made initial inquiries regarding the Serbian forward.
