Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Jhon Lucumì from Bologna, with the possibility of Fabio Miretti moving in the opposite direction. The potential transfer gained attention following an embrace between Lucumì and Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao before the Colombia-Portugal international match on Sunday.
Lucumì has established himself as a key player for Bologna since joining in 2022, attracting the attention of several clubs, including Juventus, who see him as a potential reinforcement under manager Luciano Spalletti. Conceicao has been with Juventus for two seasons, and the friendly interaction between the two players has fuelled speculation about a possible future partnership at the Turin club.
However, a direct swap deal involving Miretti is currently stalled, as Bologna are not keen on accepting players in exchange. The club is prioritizing a cash offer for Lucumì, who has a release clause of €28 million that will expire in July. While Bologna are reluctant to sell for less than €25 million, Juventus are confident they can negotiate a lower fee. The Bianconeri are eager to sell Miretti for €15 million to balance their financial books.
Bologna are currently only considering a loan deal with either a right or obligation to buy for Miretti, rejecting Juventus’s desire for an immediate permanent transfer. Lucumì and Conceicao have a history of on-field interactions, including a notable incident last December where the defender appeared to throw the Juventus winger to the ground during a match. There have also been instances of heated exchanges between Lucumì and Conceicao, as well as Spalletti, during previous encounters. The evolving relationship between the two players adds another layer of intrigue to the potential transfer.
With Lucumì’s release clause expiring soon, July is expected to be a crucial month in negotiations. The possibility of seeing Lucumì and Conceicao as teammates at Juventus remains a developing story.
