Juventus are considering a move for Radu Dragusin, the Tottenham Hotspur defender, according to reports in Italy. Discussions began following a conversation between Juventus sporting director Giovanni Ottolini and the player’s representatives, the Giuffrida brothers.
Tottenham are reportedly open to selling Dragusin after a disappointing spell in London, where he has failed to establish himself as a regular starter. The club is also looking to generate funds for planned acquisitions during the transfer window, including Sandro Tonali. New manager Roberto De Zerbi is expected to bring in further defensive reinforcements with deals for Robertson, Senesi and Van Hecke nearing completion.
Dragusin previously played for Juventus’ youth system before moving to Genoa, where Ottolini oversaw his transfer for €28 million, generating a significant profit for the Rossoblù. Ottolini was also instrumental in bringing Dragusin to Juventus on loan with an obligation to buy when the club was in Serie B, for a fee of €9.7 million. This existing relationship between Ottolini and the player’s representatives is seen as a key factor in potentially facilitating a deal.
Tottenham are seeking a fee between €20 and €25 million for the Romanian international, slightly less than what they paid Genoa two years ago. Juventus’ ability to finance the transfer hinges on player sales, including Muharemovic, who Spalletti has deemed surplus to requirements, and Pedro Felipe, who is returning from a loan spell at Sassuolo. The potential sale of Bremer, Gatti, or Kelly could also provide funds, particularly with Bremer’s release clause set at €58 million. Juventus are taking a measured approach, aware that other Italian clubs, including Fiorentina, are also interested in Dragusin.
