Juventus have registered an interest in Salzburg midfielder Alajbegovic, according to transfer journalist Nicolò Schira during an appearance on Tuttosport’s YouTube channel, Aperimercato. While Atalanta currently lead the race for the player, Salzburg are reportedly seeking to instigate a bidding war between interested clubs.
The 20-year-old is valued at around €30 million with a salary expectation of approximately €2 million per season, figures considered within reach for Serie A clubs. The potential need for midfield reinforcement at Juventus may be further heightened by the physical condition of Kenan Yildiz, potentially prompting the club to seriously consider a move for Alajbegovic.
Schira also revealed that Manchester City’s John Stones has been offered to Juventus, however, his wage demands of around €6 million per year pose a significant obstacle. Chelsea are also reportedly monitoring the situation with the England international.
Fabrizio Ravanelli, also appearing on Aperimercato, assessed Juventus’s pre-season form and the squad’s current state. He noted the team’s positive approach to playing football under their new manager, but highlighted a struggle to convert chances in the final third. Ravanelli also suggested that new signing Arcangelo Ekhator, while possessing potential, shouldn’t be relied upon consistently. He expressed a preference for developing young talent within the club, rather than sending them out on loan.
Ravanelli further discussed potential attacking targets, favouring Dennis Praet over Mateta, and expressing admiration for players like Ferran Torres and Marcus Rashford. He also lamented missed opportunities, specifically mentioning a potential move for Greenwood. On the defensive front, Ravanelli identified Lecce’s Patrick Lucumì as an ideal signing, praising his qualities and potential to improve the team’s build-up play. He also acknowledged the need for a strong, ball-playing goalkeeper.
