Juventus' Milik set for summer exit despite return to full fitness
Arkadiusz Milik is expected to leave Juventus at the end of the season, despite returning to full fitness ahead of the Serie A run-in. The Polish striker, along with key forward Dusan Vlahovic, has recovered from injury and is now available for manager Lucio Spalletti, who for the first time has a full squad at his disposal.
According to reports from Turin, Milik used a recent break in the schedule to work alone in the gym, demonstrating his commitment to finishing the season strongly. His return bolsters Juventus's attacking options for their crucial final matches as they battle for Champions League qualification. However, the same reports indicate his time at the club is almost certainly over, with a summer departure now seen as inevitable.
The situation stands in contrast to that of Vlahovic, with whom Milik will now compete for a starting role. While talks over a new contract for Vlahovic continue, albeit slowly, there is no such pathway for Milik. The 30-year-old is instead playing to prove he can still make a difference in Serie A, aiming to attract interest from what is described as an 'exciting' next destination.
Milik joined Juventus on an initial loan from Marseille in 2022, making the move permanent for a fee reported to be around €7 million in 2023. He has served primarily as a backup option during his tenure, contributing important goals but struggling with consistency and injuries. His current contract with the Bianconeri runs until June 2026.
The return of both strikers comes at a vital moment for Juventus, who sit fifth in the table, just three points ahead of sixth-placed Roma. With fourth-placed Como also in close pursuit, Spalletti will need contributions from his entire squad. The club's failure to secure a Champions League place could trigger a significant squad overhaul, making the final weeks of the season pivotal.
For Milik, the coming matches represent an audition for his next club. A strong finish could reignite his market value and attract suitors from Italy or elsewhere in Europe. His impending exit is viewed as part of a necessary refresh for Juventus, who will look to reshape their attacking department in the upcoming transfer window.
