Juventus Next Gen are on the verge of adding Ismael Konatè to their squad, according to reports from Italy. The 18-year-old forward, currently with Empoli, is expected to complete a permanent transfer to the Juventus youth side.
Konatè spent the second half of last season on loan at Lecco, gaining valuable playing experience. Details surrounding the transfer fee are yet to be disclosed, with the move still pending a medical examination and final confirmation. The acquisition aligns with the strategy of Juventus Next Gen coach Claudio Chiellini to bolster the team’s attacking options ahead of the new season.
This move comes amidst a period of activity for Juventus’ youth system. Earlier this month, the club officially signed Daniel Okolo, a 2007-born attacker, from Triestina. Juventus Next Gen are also actively managing player departures, with Faticanti and Moruzzi joining Avellino on loan with an option to buy and a counter-option for Juventus, Pietrelli moving to Vicenza on loan, and Di Biase completing a permanent transfer to Crawley Town.
Beyond the Next Gen squad, Juventus are also strengthening their Under 20 team, having secured Louis Reynaud from Toulouse and Antonie Beydts from MVV Maastricht, both born in 2008. These additions demonstrate a commitment to developing young talent throughout the club’s academy system. The focus on youth extends to the Women’s team, where new director Mazzetta has been actively reshaping the squad with a series of signings and departures, including the recent arrival of French midfielder Lea Khelifi from Nantes and defender Kysha Sylla. Konatè's arrival will provide further competition and depth in the Juventus Next Gen attack as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
