Juventus set to make Jeremie Boga loan move permanent
Juventus are expected to trigger their option to sign Jeremie Boga permanently from OGC Nice this summer, following the forward's decisive impact since his January arrival. The deal, a loan with a purchase right set at less than €5 million, is now seen as a formality after Boga scored four crucial Serie A goals in just 366 minutes of action.
The 29-year-old Ivorian, who joined on deadline day in February, was initially viewed as a squad-depth signing. Instead, his goals have directly contributed six points from away matches against Udinese and Atalanta, with another strike sparking a comeback against Roma. His form has been pivotal in Juventus's push for a Champions League qualification spot.
According to reports in Italy, including from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club's hierarchy and players are convinced of the move. Former captain Giorgio Chiellini stated before a recent match that Boga had integrated well and that his accessible price made a permanent stay likely. Current midfielder Manuel Locatelli has also publicly praised Boga's adaptation and potential.
Boga's career had previously stalled after spells with Sassuolo and Atalanta, and his move to Nice was marred by an incident where he was attacked by fans, leading to a period out of the team. His resurgence in Turin represents a significant turnaround. For a Juventus side needing a summer squad refresh on a budget, securing a proven contributor for a minimal fee is considered a strategic coup.
The player himself has expressed a desire to stay, telling Italian media he "could not have dreamed of a better start." His ability to play across the front line and provide a direct goal threat offers manager Massimiliano Allegri valuable flexibility. The permanent transfer, once finalized, will be one of the first pieces of business in what is expected to be a busy off-season for the Bianconeri as they build a squad capable of challenging on multiple fronts.
