Juventus are focusing their attention on Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz as a potential signing, with the pursuit of Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva appearing to cool, according to reports in Italy. While both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are now vying for Silva’s signature, Juventus are prioritizing a creative midfielder capable of dictating play.
Diaz has emerged as a consensus candidate within the Juventus setup, with both the club and manager Luciano Spalletti reportedly in agreement over his suitability. The 26-year-old is viewed as a versatile option who could complement existing attacking talents such as Kenan Yildiz and Joao Conceicao, and would fit into Spalletti’s anticipated 4-2-3-1 formation.
The primary obstacle to a deal lies with Real Madrid, where Diaz is currently under contract until 2027. The Spanish club’s future direction remains uncertain, with presidential elections scheduled for June 7th, pitting incumbent Florentino Perez against Enrique Riquelme. Any decision regarding Diaz’s future is likely to be influenced by the outcome of these elections and the appointment of a new manager, with Jose Mourinho’s potential arrival currently stalled.
Juventus are maintaining contact with Diaz’s representatives, recognizing his prior success in Italy with AC Milan, where he won Serie A under Stefano Pioli. A return to the league could appeal to the player, and would allow him to reunite with former teammate Pierre Kalulu. Juventus officials believe Diaz offers a similar profile to Silva, providing experience and quality in attacking midfield. However, internal discussions continue regarding potential reinforcements at other positions, particularly at full-back, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Grimaldo and Mingueza also being considered. The club’s overall aim remains to raise the overall quality of the squad ahead of the new season.
