Juventus are continuing their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, though the player is reportedly prioritizing a chance to prove himself under Jose Mourinho at the Spanish capital, according to reports from La linea bianconera. The club has held multiple meetings with Diaz’s father and agent, with manager Luciano Spalletti personally attempting to convince the Moroccan international of the project in Turin.
Spalletti has offered Diaz assurances of a starting role in the attacking midfield position and the opportunity to compete in multiple competitions next season. However, Diaz appears inclined to remain with Real Madrid, hoping for a significant role within the squad. The situation is further complicated by the potential return of Nico Paz to Real Madrid, which would increase competition for playing time. Should Paz rejoin the club, Diaz might reconsider a loan move to Juventus.
Juventus are also exploring alternative options, with Fiorentina’s Albert Gudmundsson emerging as a potential target. Gudmundsson’s agents have proposed the move to the Bianconeri, but Spalletti is not currently enthusiastic about the player, despite a previous disagreement between the two stemming from perceived unsportsmanlike conduct from Gudmundsson during a recent match. Spalletti is seeking a player with greater international experience for the attacking midfield role.
The potential transfer of Gudmundsson could become more likely if the pursuit of Diaz falls through. Fiorentina are reportedly open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy, valued between €15 and €18 million, making Gudmundsson a financially viable option for Juventus. The outcome may also depend on the results of the presidential election at Real Madrid today, where Florentino Perez is competing against Riquelme, which could influence the club's overall transfer strategy.
